Hi Guys,
Well when you are out beeping and you find our aussie $1 coin just keep your eye out for the year 2000. There was a mistake made in the mintage they used the dye from the ten cent coin and because the ten cent is smaller than the dollar by a bit it put another rim on the edge. They are around and a selling for a good buck. So keep your eyes peeled and you might be lucky.

Thanks for the heads up on that one Pinpointa, I never knew about that.
How much are they worth mate?

I'll second that.
By the way. Last week was the 19th anniversary of the $2 coin. It would have to rate as one of the most favoured coins to detect of the modern era. So sweet to find; so readily lost!

Hi Guys,
$1 coin reality check may pay off. This is out of the western australian newspaper and i quote. Written by Ben Spencer, Next time you get a $1 coin in your change , you might want to take a closer look -because you may have hit a mini -jackpot. A 2000 $1 COIN was sold for $1631 0n internet auction site e-bay on sunday, far exceeding its original asking price of $1000 in a sale that is likely to compel many australians to delve into there wallets, purses, and piggy banks. So how can a coin be worth more than 1000 times its value? The 2000 mule coin can be identified by studing its outer edge on the heads side.If it has two distinct rims running around the edge- the markings of a 10 cent piece-there is every chance it is one of the coins in question.
