Aug 9 Update - Little park gives up 4 more silvers !!!

OK - this is starting to get scary. Went back to the little park this morning after a good soaking rain overnight. Ended up hunting 2.5 hours.

I start hunting at exactly 8:30 am. Within 10 feet I had my first hit at 6" deep and I was sure it was silver. Boom - out pops a '42 merc.

I fill the hole and on my next swing, another sure silver hit at 6" deep. Boom - out pops a '39 merc.

I fill the hole and on my next swing, yet another sure silver hit at 6" deep. Boom - out pops a '48 rosie.

So I have been here for 8 minutes and have dug 3 silver on my first 3 plugs. Look at the picture and notice how far apart these plugs are. They can't be more than 10"-12" apart.

First time I have started a day this way.

For silver, I ended up with 1936, 1939, and 1942 mercs and a 1948 rosie dime. That makes 21 silver for August and 94 silver for year. I had 44 silver TOTAL in the previous 11 years.

Also picked up 3 wheaties ranging from 1941 to 1945. That makes 67 wheaties for August and 316 for the year. I had 270 wheats TOTAL in the previous 11 years.

This postage stamp sized park has now given me 36 silver and 155 wheats in my last 39 hours hunting there.

Are they breeding down there?

Congrats on your continued silver success. Surprised that your finds are mostly dimes! There should be lots of wheaties and possibly some quarters, but with your success, you will probably dig them in the next few days.

Hi Chuck: I am assuming that the big silver has been cleaned out many years ago. Todays totals make 33 silver dimes and 3 silver quarters from this site.

Wow! I don't even do that well at our seeded club hunts! Amazing stuff!

What signals are you getting on the CTX? Up here on Vancouver Island I an getting silver hitting the same as most ofour newer pennies. 12/43-12/44 sometimes 11/44

if I get a solid 12/44 from all directions and it's over 4" deep, it's silver for me. Memorial pennies in the top 3" of soil will hit 12/44 sometimes, but usually not solid 12/44.

I have had silver dimes as low as 12/41 and as high as 12/45. I seem to find a few at 4" depth at 12/43 which is usually a memorial penny for me.

Most wheats are 12/39 and 12/40. Some as High as 12/41 and as low as 12/38

I've had cruddy memorials come in as low as 12/34

I use Evan's (Gonehunting's) settings almost exclusively.

I am also using the gone hunting program for some of my hunts.[attachment 271941 php3Or4SyPM.jpg] The American pennies are hitting at 12/36 for the most part and everything else is hitting at 12/43-12/44.This was from one day. 2 silver dimes and a 925 ring.
