Audio variances of a GTAx1250

Tried this with various other models including imaging and was not as prevalent..In pinpoint slowly swing over a gold ring and the tab that mimics it and you will find the gold ring tone to be more mellow and the tab to be a tad scratchy. Perhaps its the nature of the beast or that I have been experimenting with various models-makes etc. over the years or I have a trained ear but to me surely can cut down the odds to dig or not...and until they come out with a unit that can tell a gold ring from a tab(don't think so) works for me...

Yeah, I've noticed that, too, on my old 1250.:wiggle: What search coil are you usin'? That old white Crossfire 2 or the newer Elliptical Rhinotough?
I use the 10"x14" DD Excelerator that's made for the Ace 250 and it works great on my old GTAx1250. Nice and lightweight.
Another thing I've noticed while usin' that DD Excelerator is that while in pinpoint mode a bottlecap will have a "scratchy" type sound while the search coil is dragged back and a coin will have a much smoother "well rounded" sound. Check it out if you ever use a DD search coil. Man, that is one hot machine. Same as the 1350 or 1500 minus the profiling or imaging.
Thanks for sharing. Happy Hunting!:)

Meters are nice but experimentation on different targets audio wise puts more goodies in the pouch with less digging.

Even though I have the 4 1/2 super sniper... 12.5 crossfire 2.. and the 10 x 14 proformance DD I am basically a stock coil guy using the stock Crossfire 2 as different coils produce different audio results and before the season ends may trade or sell my acc. coils as the stock crossfire coil serves me well and why change what ain't broke and trying to tell the difference of audio is just counter productive at least in my case..Again whatever works....and thanks for your input..
