audio issue

Went out to an old very well hunted park and was having a pretty decent day with a SLQ and 2 Mercs, when all of a sudden, the volume on the machine started to from extreme low to extreme high within every swing.Shut it down, restarted still the same.I thought it might the headphones-I don't use the wireless, but next day ,I went out with my Explorer II,and the headphones were fine. It's frustrating,I spent all this money for this unit expecting no issues on a new machine.I spent $450 on my used Explorer almost 7 years ago and never had a moments problem after hundreds of hard hours of use.Does anyone have any ideas what the issue might be or I'm going to have to send it in to Minelab?

Why do you not use the wireless? Might want to try it to see if the fault is deep in the CTX or connection related.

Also try a reset of the CTX rather than just a restart.

Whether an electronic device costs $3000 or $300 it can still develope a problem. They have a lot of parts and hundreds of solder points.
Defiantly do a re-set and if it still continues to have problems then give Minelab a call.
