ATX Sling

RSB

Member
John, would you care to comment on the use of the sling provided with the ATX? I use a GTI 2500 and would like to try to use a sling to distribute the load better so I can swing it longer. Any information you can give, such as sling construction, possible availability and how it affects the use of the detector, will be helpful.

Hi - It's a slightly different version of my Detecting Buddy that we manufactured for Garrett specifically to coincide with the ATX introduction...
Check out the Detecting Buddy on my website.
Thanks.

Does the Garrett sling actually fit the 2500? If so I would think it would sell well for the heavier and older Garrett machines.

you can buy the detecting buddy from extremedetecting above. It will work with any detector and like he said the garrett version is just lightly different since he actually manufactured the unit that is coming with the atx.

I haven't used the sling. I find that the ATX set up with the coils extended at a reasonable distance from the controls is quite economical. It is exactly like using a straight rod instead of the "S" handle. It will work on other detectors also. I did hook it up once at home, and it did what it was supposed to do, which is lighten the load.
