I usually use my Honda Ruckus.

Its just a 50cc scooter but the detector in its bag fits nicely under the seat and my digging tools and probe strap right to the front rack. It goes through the woods really good, wide tires and no gear shifting to worry about, it's main drawback is that it and most all scooters are not very tolerant of mud and water, not to worry we are suffering from a drought and fire watches.

Really wish it would rain as the ground here is like digging through concrete.
I also use a Yamaha Zuma but its storage is limited and the detector must be strapped on sideways which makes it difficult to navigate tight trails.

The main advantage of the Zuma is the fact I have heavily modified it, 70cc kit, transmission has been hot-rodded, Kevlar belt, performance expansion chamber, carbon fiber reed valves, and a bunch of other stuff, all resulting in a higher terminal velocity=speed, it can run over 50 MPH and gets 35-40 MPG and can whip a SMART Car off the line...

At best my Jeep Cherokee with 32X11.5 Mud Terrains and a 4.5 inch lift can go places none of my other vehicles can and carry a bunch of gear and people.

If all else fails there is always the tried and true method of "One foot in front of the other" happy hunting, please send rain, about 3 days worth at best....
