Found my first wheat and silver (part of a broach) yesterday. Was going to do some air tests at home today. Went to my trash bag from yesterday to get some tabs and grabbed what I thought was a copper cap ( thought to be from a doorknob or something). I noticed that the scratches on it wheren't scratches, cleaned it up and Wow! So yesterday I got 1st wheat, silver ,and this!! Did I mention the 20th was my birthday ?!?

Wow. How much does it weigh? It is 14k gold which is 58.33% pure gold.

You got your Christmas present early it seems.

Way to go.

Shine that puppy up .Way to go

I'm using a pioneer 505 hunting in disc/all metal mode, don't remember what it registered, thought it was trash. It had a copper/brass type look to it because of the soil it was in. I didn't notice the markings, thought it was some kind of plumbing cap or doorknob cap and put in my trashbag. I had dug alot of plumbing and siding pieces that day and didn't give it any thought until later.

I didn't know exactly what it was..aside from being a 14k gold somethin or other so did a search for the Fahys Monarch. Best I could tell Fahys was a late 1800s watch maker and the Monarch was one of their models. Looks like that is the lid off of a 100+ year old pocket watch. Congrats and very cool find.

What a great Birthday Gift to Yourself!! I also say its a cover to an old pocket watch !!
Nice Finds !!
Congrats and Keep Hunting

I did some research and found that even though it says 14k it is not solid, it's gold filled 20year. But still from the 1800's I think it's the back of the watch and it looks hand engraved. Still very cool!

Yes it is , that's an awesome find.

Thanks for Sharing.
