Some ol' guy who calls himself "Senior" has recently posted a few remarks regarding
the Garrett LS Infinium on Phil's Australian Gold Centre forum.

Bill... Uncle Willie... my apologies for spelling your name wrong.
It is sad that the "LS" has received so little USA Garrett support.

It has been the only PI-type with a full range ground balancing and
tracking ability that is also water proof (Read diving). Unfortunately
it may have been ahead of it's time... One universal PI-type that could
be used for nugget hunting and beach hunting.

I understand that White's is planning on coming out with a PI-type
that also has diving and gb and tracking. It may be as is the LS good
for both desert nuggets as well the coins and jewlery found at the
beach.

If that is you (jim straight) if so, i just recieved your book in the mail TODAY. (follow the dry washers) Is a great read so far, and lots of good info in it. I was worried about you, havent seen you on the Infinium forum lately, glad your still kicking. Alan (Ga)

Don't worry about the name. It sounds the same either way. :) There will probably be a lot of copies of the Infinium out before you know it. A lot of folks are beginning to discover what a versatile machine it is.

Alan(GA) and my old Bud, Bill. All is fine. I have not posted
on this forum for some time. Bill, to answer your PM, I still
have my Scorpion, SN#23. It is on its third search coil so you
know it has been well used over the years. From Alaska to Arisona.

All is fine with me. I still am writing occasional free lance articles.
Actually, the current 2007 Silver & Gold has one of mine. Lost
Treasure currently plans on using two of my free lance articles.
One is on Charles Fremonts Lost Cannon. The other is on "Lunker
Hill." If you happen go subscribe to LT I hope you will like reading
them both. "Lunker Hill" was a very successful mining operation using
various hand carried metal detectors to recover hit and miss eluvoal
gold nuggets; from small "bread and butter," to multi-ounce lunkers.

I really appreciate Carla Short and Janet Wareford-Perry of LT for
their kindness towards me. Especially in considering the "Lost Cannon"
article.

Also... Alan...I especially thank you for the kind words. My small "single
blanket" book sales are now in the 25th year. Bill has known and
supported me from the beginning. Also, Bill our youngest grand
daughter now has my 250. This is why I have been sorta quiet on this
forum... But I have been doing good with my Infinium at the beach.
but I'm sorta unsteady as one of my knees is tricky. My Best... Jim

Hi old bud,
Glad to hear you're still kicking and pumping out articles. I've got to get to work on some. Carla keeps after me about it. What's your opinion of the Scorpion and do you have any of the concentric coils that originally came with it? Mary at Garrett just told me that they have two original 4.5 Sniper coils for the Scorpion laying around down there so she is sending me one.
I put a bug in their ear about how versatile the Scorpion is and if they made a few changes in its design and brought back a selection of coils it could become a hot seller so she is going to pass my message on to the R&D boys..
I subscribe to LT and you know I'll read anything you put on paper. Also your grand daughter's success and finds with the 250 would be most welcome here. You watch that knee and take care of your old self. Neither of us are spring chickens anymore. Cluck! Cluck! :) Come visit us here and don't be a stranger. I'll try to buzz you once in awhile. Take care my dear bud.

Gosh Bill... (Grin!) about the Stinger... go to my "Big Book" and see pages 87-9, 231-3, and page 285.
It is an early serial number... one of the first off the line... I have only used the standard 10x5 eliptical DD.
Also on page 285-7 I reviewd the early Infinium... You and I are older than dirt... Consider us spring chickens
who have lost our "spring." I like your sense of humor...

Someone recently said I'm a rock that has turned to sand... I think(?) it was meant as a complement???
