[attachment 33087 BartiDdu2.GIF]I know theres a couple of you on here! Fancy starting a thread regarding Welsh beaches the pros and cons.
I'll start it with the illustrious Barry Island! The beach and surrounding area has been busy from around 200AD originally by the Romans, and was then heavily used during the 1900's by the beach loving Edwardians. Numbers 1 to 3 on the wall front tend to be the most productive for me personally between the dry and the waters edge. If you facing number 1 the far left where the steps leading up to the point is the vague remains of a shop from the early 1900's. I have found some nice Victorian coins here. Don't detect along the grass headland between Barry Isle and Cold Knapp as its protected due to a bronze axe head find and our ridiculous laws!
Great beach for finding coins (
