Attacked at the park today.

This is the LAST time I go MD wearing shorts. I hit a pocket near a very murky section of park that's had a lot of rain recently, and is still very damp, and within 10 minutes of hunting had over 50 mosquito bites. My face, arms, and legs are covered. I never had a chance to realize what was going on. I bent down to dig a clad dime and suddenly felt multiple stings at once. When I stood-up and looked at my legs I saw 20-30 baby mosquitos feasting on my legs. That was it. Kicked the dirt back into the plug and went right back to the Jeep. It was there that I realized just hw bad I had been attacked. My face on one side is swollen, and my legs look like a meth addicts arm. I will NOT hunt that park again this year without long sleeves, and pants. Maybe a flamethrower to if I can find one on craigslist. ugh

That SUCKS. That happened to me at Harbor Park, but not near as bad.

Be very careful I got bit up a few weeks ago not as bad as you but it only takes one infected one. Makes you sick worrying about it. We have a high alert now and the towns won't let kids play on the sport fields in the evening because some people have being getting west Nile viruse and Triple E. We went out early this morning at a old farm it was cool no bugs.

I use the little fan made by OFF and they work. No bugs! 0 bugs. The inserts last about 12 hours. Sorry about your misfortune or maybe missed fortune but try one you will like it. Does not interfere with my machine either. HH :minelab:

Spray yourself with an insect repellent containing deet. That will do the trick. West Nile is a real concern, so are the other diseases carried by those $#^#@%!

I like the off fan lost mine hunting using spray now west nile is bad this year. I had a run in at a park hunting dug into a yellow jackets nest, 12 stings before I could get away and dropped my pin pointer right in the hole i dug into had to go back with wasp spray and longselves to get it. The dangers of our hobby lol.

Thats because you're not "Part of nature".
I was looking a farmer last month, and i wondered that he was just doing his work, while several flies (the sort that are large like bees) sit on his arm sucking blood, side by side with several moskitos.
I was shocked and aksed hin about it. Then i noticed that he was i nno way afraid of flies. They seemed not to be able to hurt him anyway.
He lives there and the flies are a part of nature just like him. They just can not hurt him really.

In opposite to that, i went to that place with a friend from the city some days later. That was funny.
I could not start detecting a single thing because before we arrived at that place, the flies came by and my friend started RUNNING like a tiger is after him.
Then i realized that we people from the city just lost the contact to nature.

What i can tell you from my own experience is, that if you keep your pH-Level hi above 7 (by eating less meat and much vegetables and using BASICA Compact as well)
it seems that many flies prefer to attack people near me and let me untouched. As i watch for this, i can only tell from my experience that it seems to play a role.
