Why when someone posts a positive post about something, or someone in the hobby can't you just accept that post as a good thing ?.

When someone receives a positive experience about a coil, a detector repair etc.....I don't think a negative post in response is cool.

In the instance I am referring to a very nice thing happened and the person got a free coil from a manufacturer. Immediately someone posted how bad the coil was in EMI areas.

Boy did that negate the positive feeling of getting great service, and a very nice product from a manufacturer. Why not just post a " Hey that is great post..and not something negative to the original poster ?.

Just my take.........

Great post, Elton....every word a gem, structure, spelling and even punctuation are all spot on!
The way you string words together is a true gift.

How's that?

All kidding aside I agree.
These communities we have online our like our families and nobody likes a Debbie Downer bursting anyone's bubbles...family members just shouldn't do that.
As far as knocking something someone else has in regard to our tools even if the negative post was not meant to hurt but only to inform I think people forget sometimes that one person's experiences might be totally different than another's using the same stuff whether it is a coil or a detector.
I have seen uncountable posts from Fisher users over the years that tried them, specifically an F70 or F75, and for them they were so noisy and unmanageable that they feel it is their duty to warn everyone away from these horrible things every chance they get.
"Totally unusable near power lines" is something I have read often.
That may be for them but considering the vast amount of settings available I don't know if this opinion, any opinion really good or bad, can be considered gospel if you take into account the uneven playing fields we all have and different site conditions plus the totally different mindsets possible from one person compared to another.
I have used my F70 in several sites with main power lines running directly overhead or all around the perimeters on some pretty high settings and I have rarely seen any of this behavior, seems pretty quiet and stable to me and I have found great things at those sites with no trouble.
One site at the edge of a particular park I used to hunt had more EMI there in this area every time I visited than any other site I have ever hunted with insane and totally crazy jumping constantly.
Still, with a few setting adjustments and some behavior knowledge I learned I was able to pull out silver coins, a deep Indian head pocket spill and even a gold ring sitting between two pieces of iron in this very difficult and challenging spot and it was relatively easy...for me and my knowledge and experience but for others it might have been a much different story.
Just an example but my experience was probably totally different than others might have had in that same area using the same tools so I put down the positive side in my posts.
Even is situations where I might have had a lesser experience using a coil or detector, maybe something that might be considered negative to some, there is always a way to impart your experience without knocking...and I always state that this was my experience only and others may experience something totally different.

Life is a gift, having the health and so many kinds of tools available to enjoy this hobby is also a gift no matter what tools we use or ways we want to do it.
Being positive about mostly everything is for me just a much more enjoyable way to live this life, I have had more support from members of these forums than I ever thought possible when I first joined these communities and I choose to pay it forward with any advice or small insights I might have and support for all.
