ATT Beach Hunters.... One way signals

Looks like most of the posts here are from dirt diggers. I bought my 600 just for beach hunting. I have noticed quite a few one way signals. I have been digging everything just to learn this machine. At first I thought they were trash targets, Irregular shape. Then I was also getting 20+ one way signals and finding copper pennies and dimes. Not sure if nails were present, nearby. I have notched out -9 to -3. I dont like hearing all the nails and fish hooks. Did a test with gold chain and it came in at -2 to -1. That's good enough for me. Very frustrating trying to pinpoint. Anyone else experiencing this issue ??? Thankfully Im digging in the sand and it doesnt matter how big the hole is.

By the way, this machine LOVES nickels... I hope I find a ring at 13 !!!
No gold yet but plenty of silver.

Reminds me of the excal on the beach with the one way signals. A few scopps down and its a dime or a penny, most likely in a vertical orientation. Then there's the deep one's. I drop the recovery speed down to 2 and bring the sensitivity up t0 23 and try to get a solid hit.

I have the recovery speed at 1 and Im running 20, 19, 18 on sensitivity.
Otherwise too much falsing. Guess I'll just have to play some more..

I also tried to change to single frequency in beach mode.... NOT !!!!!

I actually like Park 1 & 2 on dry sand. Signals much sharper. Too washed out on Beach mode 1 & 2.

Move the recovery to 4 or 5. Also.... go to 5 tones and do some tone breaks at ..... -2, 13, 21, and 26. Im running the tone pitches at 4, 10, 15, 20and 25. 0 iron bias and I disc -3 and below just because we know thing are digitally droping with depth. In fact I set my beach1, park 2, and field 2. Its apples to apples when testing.... I think u will find in really dry sand...fiels is deeper.

I'm in Jersey as well, a lot of iron, so I run recovery at 3-4 and then drop down when I hit a good spot. I saw a video of a guy dropping the iron bias down to 2 and finding targets missed at a higher bias. With conditions changing from one jetti to the next, its good to have a grapple on which settings are most applicable.

My recovery and iron bias are set to 1. Sooo maybe I have to lower my sensitivity ???? Maybe I should try to ground balance, too !!!
Not one of my favorite things to do. That's why I always liked my Sovereign. Never had to ground balance !!!

Tomorrows another learning day.

Donna...... try the iron bias at 0 this may help the machine give a better ID , and move your recovery UP before reducing sensitivity. Sounds like you are working in a lot of iron..... so just because you dont hear it thru the phones (which is what disc does) .... dont mean the machines isnt responding to it. Moving your recovery speed up will allow you to work closer to the iron targets..... you think you are getting more depth from a real slow recovery thats not always the case. You are more likely passing over targets which may be both nulling (disc out) and a chirp of a good target that would come in stronger with a faster recovery. There comes a time that its better to get targets others missed that are masked over thinking you are getting depth..... when reality you are loosing it when the coil is taking in more material to process.... and of course more trash.
