Hello everyone this is my first post on the forum.I got my atpro yesterday played around with it on the inside for a while then took it outside in the front yard. The first thing i saw was a big rainbow on the screen.Has anyone else had a problem like this thank's so much Bill.

My At Pro had that and unless it is really severe, it is normal. I remember mine was more pronounced under different light and sometime almost invisable.

Once you get used to it, no big deal, you will probably have a lot of questions like we all did when we first got ours, so fire away and Good Luck!:detecting:

Bill, were you wearing polarized sunglasses? That seems to make the issue much worse.

Maybe there's GOLD at the end of that Rainbow!! But yes, the display can be a challenge if you are in the direct sun. Just wait till you put on polarized sunglasses, Wheeeeeeee!! I have the same problem though at gas pumps and any other stuff that uses those kind of screens.

Welcome to the forum, Bill-NC. Hope you like the At/Pro. Looking forward to some photos of your finds.
I quit wearing sunglasses when I'm in the water, not because of the rainbow effect, but I just can't see what's in my scoop. It's rough with the glare off the water, but I just pull my hat down lower. I need some of that paint the ball players put under their eyes to keep the sun's glare out of their eyes.

See how quick you get answers to your questions on this forum? There are some real Pro's with the Pro here.

Hope you enjoy your AT Pro half as much as I enjoy mine.

So far in the last week I have found over $60 in clad and two silver rings. Not bad for the old guy.

Today I made my own leather tool pouch for my lesche digger, coin popper, probe and Pro pointer.
It turned out pretty good for my first effort.

Have fun with your new Pro. Remember this is a hobby. It is suppose to relieve you from the other stresses
That clutter your life.

Thanks for looking, GL--------------HH
