I noticed that when I bump my coil or move the coil cable it sets off a signal like I am over a target.Especially if I move the coil on its attaching bolt.I suppose I need to get a new coil for my ATPRO. Advice ? my machine is over 2 years old.

First make sure your connection is clean and tight.
Then:
Have some one hold the coil tight to the floor and the shaft tight against a table at a normal detecting angle.
Now tap to wiggle the cable coming from the coil. If you get signals and if the cable is wrapped snugly against the shaft as it should be,
you probably have a bad coil cable. and will need to get a new coil.
Before jumping to order a new coil, try the below, if you do not run you cable as described below.
I personally put enough slack in the cable from the coil to the shaft and then run the cable straight up the shaft to just below the cam lock and then start the wrap going toward the control box. I tape the first point the cable contacts the shaft and upward to just before the wrap starts with electrical tape. The amount of slack must be enough to rotate the coil throughout its range of travel without stress on the cable.
Now if you still get the falsing...call Garrett and speak to them. They will more than likely give you an RMA.
One of my hunting buddy got the same problem on his stock coil. Wiggle the core which goes into the coil, if the noise persist (when wiggling there) then it's the same problem, bad coil. He call Garrett and they replaced the coil for free. Hope this help.
