ATPro and ATGold Relic Hunt...

Gonehunting

New member
Last Wednesday Steve Moore and Cameraman Brian McKenzie, along with Bart with bigboyshobies and I met do a little relic hunting. I chose the ATGold. I was really impressed. The new 5x8 coil is awesome for spliting in between the trash. We did really well Bart, as some of you know, found a nice cannonball. Steve recovered a lot of lead and a 1 piece US Button, W.P. Phila on the backmark. I ended up with a lot of lead as well as a few buttons, my first General Service button, and a metal type stamp with a Star and the number 46 inside it. It ended up being the insignia for the first State flag of Oklahoma.
I looked all over the website for the vid, because I figured it was already posted... So here it is just in case it isn't.

I have a buckle exactly like the one you show with the heart on it. I figured it was just a kids buckle? Is it not?

No Kenny, its a buckle protector. They date from around the civil war all the up to know days. Research told us around turn of the century for this one. Found on my inlaws property, my wifes great great grandpa was a calvary officer. There was a photo of him and his troops right where I found it...

John I wish some of the video of us falling and slipping would have been left in,,, a couple of times the creek bank was described as "slicker than Owl %$@#"
We had a good time and can't wait to go again... :garrett:
