ATpro and Ace stand quandary.

A lot of you know I've been working on a nice detector stand for the ATpro, Ace 150,250 and 350. The real problem is getting a stand wide enough to keep the machine from falling over even on uneven ground. Once you get the stand that wide it hits you in the leg. Then if you make or buy a heavy chunky looking pipe stand to looks funky. I have made three types of nice aluminum stands in hopes of selling them. But after many field tests I cannot come up with a great stand. So I didn't give up though! I though way out of the box on this one. Guess what? It's the bomb! Here is the problem - I bought 3 parts that are in every hardware store. You don't even need any tools. Nor do you need to cut or alter a thing. Just put it on. I have to say it's so simple and works great. Cost $2.00 and it installed in 5 seconds. No drilling either. So what is the problem you say? Well I wanted to make some money on it. But I fear that once someone buys it they will say they go screwed. :argue: After all the local hardware store sells everything. So I guess you would be paying for a service of me gathering the materials. But who wants to do that? Probably not many? So what do you say? Do you just want me to show a picture and parts list? I'm pretty sure what the answer will be....

I have a Metal detector stand website and have built many stands. Problem is folks just don't buy em. They are awesome stands..I just don't know what the deal is. Could be the economy. ??

Hi, Yeah I hear ya on the stand improvement it's a tough call....I have lots of good ideas but I also run into the same problem....Good luck on your decision....JJ

Before I build my stand I simply laid my machine on its side. Because when someone sneezed in the next county my detector would fall over anyway.

Well I see it this way. I won't make a million dollars on it. So once I get my new camera figured out I'll post a parts list and picture. I just wouldn't feel right selling something you all could get on your own.

Hi,,That would be nice of you....I have not even decided if I'm keeping my AT Pro yet...I gave a headphone mod some thought today but have not thought about the stand mod yet...On my other older Garretts I just built a wider and longer stand out of aluminum...They look like factory stands but the detectors don't fall over...JJ
