ATP Screen

The screen on my ATPro has recently begun to go blank briefly. I still receive the audio signals, but I will loose all the info on the screen, VID, bars, depth etc. The blank out doesn't last long but is very frustrating. Yes, I did change the batteries and check all connections! No change. Anyone else experience this?

I would do a hard reset, then if the problem persists I would call Garrett. May be a cold solder joint or loose connection either way if it's internal not much you can do but send it in for repair.

This is usually due to change in temperature. So if your storing it a closet or something and then take it out to you garage were it is much cooler you may notice the rainbow effect or it could simply be the way you home lighting is hitting the screen. This is cosmetic and won't effect performance and should dissapate out in the field once the machine acclimates to the outside temps.

Another screen issue that may develop for some people is a black line may begin to appear on the screen. This line may or may not appear to move or dissapear when you press on it with your fingure . This is either an air pocket or the screen is beginning to pull away from the LCD. This is also cosmetic does't effect function of your machine. The screen you see is merly a sticker calling Garrett will get a new screen (sticker) and should come with some directions. Simply peel away the screen and apply the new screen.

I've see the screen plastic cover bubble along the middle. Garrett will replace. But mine has never gone out or had rainbow colors - and i have hunted in very hot and very cold temps. as they stated before, i would do a hard reset. if it does it again, call Garrett - they are great about support! don't put up with it. you paid money for a functioning detector, it should work correctly.
