she isn't pretty but I am 99% sure this is a real rolex Oyster Speedking, I will know more tommarow when I take it to a watch shop. I hope I am not speaking to soon because I cant get the back off. But thru all the research and running the serial # through the web site which said it was made in 1945 and all the signs and markings I can see I think it is real. The numbers on the dail are painted with iradium which has bubbled and turn black. I was hunting a house from 1939 found it around 5 inches or so the time frame is right and I dont think they made to many stainless steel knock offs back then. keeping my fingers crossed. HH to all I will update when I find out.

Wow, great find. Very good chance it is real the way it sounds. I've found two in the last few years. Un-fortunately, both were fake. Good job. HH jim tn

WOW! What a great find! :surprised:

I knew an old rancher out west who was blind in one eye, I asked him how it happened, said back in the 40's he had one of those watches with the radium glow in the dark numbers, said he fell asleep one night with his watch on and he was sleeping with his watch right on top of that eye, with his arm across his head you know... Said when he woke up in the morning, all he could see out of that eye was the watch face, blink as he might, that watch face stayed there for a long time...said it drove him nuts! like as if it was burnt into his eye somehow...said a few years later they found a tumor behind that eye and had to take it out...dont know if this was the cause, but thats what he blamed it on anyway.....he had a lot of good stories like that!

Its gotta be real! "They" did not have the technology to fake them back then...it cold be worth a bit to a collector of antique Rolex watches...sweet!
