ATP broke out today with 26 nickels

I was just about ready to drag up out of this little rural park . Than I noticed tire tracks in the grass. Its where the overflow has to park. Well someone picked it clean, except they left all the deep nickels. I already had 10 of them , got another 16 real quick before I had to leave. 50 coins and only about 10 were close to the surface. Atp was straining to get the deepest ones bouncing around 49-53 . These were up to my diggers hilt in depth. Gives me 436 nickels for the year, 500 being my goal. Just $5.09 for the day but had a hoot.

Outrageous! Great hunting and we are all pulling for you on your goal! This will be one to celebrate! :beers:

FWIW, I've had nickels chime in from the 40's up into the 60's mainly dead on 53 though, No Idea why on these other flyers,, but depth and surrounding soil/iron content seems to have been the cause of such a wide swing on the TIDS...one thing, the tone and size of the nickel makes it a perfect Pro target..it sure hits nickels hard!

Yeah, I call them the wild nickels. TID coming in on werd numbers. I get maybe a half dozen a yr. like that. Makes me wonder about getting a wild piece of gold once in a while.

Nice find on the nickles, you beat me by 3. You usually know for sure when you get a solid 52 or 53.

Nice going on the nickels.

Nice job! The ATP is one mean nickel findin' machine! I've found more old nickels this year with the ATP than I have in my entire detecting career. It also amazes me how many of the targets were masked by iron or other trashy items that other hunters shrugged off as bad signals.

HH!
