Atlantic City for a few days and a few firsts

It was a pleasure to meet Surfdigger and some of the other folks hunting in Atlantic City. Great, friendly group!

First trip to Atlantic City.
First time in a casino.
First time I wanted a smaller coil on the CZ6A for the beach (had the 12.5 inch Sun Ray coil and wanted the 8 inch that was at home).
And because of the getting overwhelmed in the tight iron with the CZ and the big coil, went to the Excalibur and found my first gold with the Excalibur.

Wife and I had a great time in Atlantic City. She has a bag full of sea glass including a couple of nice blue pieces.

Ring on the left is 3.9 grams of 10K white gold. Earring and ring on the right are sterling (2.5 grams and 8.3 grams respectively).

So how is the replenishment going in AC? My first hunt in AC I had a 12" Sunray on my Sovereign. My 8" coil was at home too.

Excellent hunt and nice rewards for the trip. EZ

Very Nice TVR!!! Glad the excalibur is working for you....we gotta hookup someday...OC any time soon? Congrads on the Gold, n silver...

Thanks all.

The beach replenishment looks to be in early stages but starting to move in earnest. I'm glad we were not booked a few weeks later to find very deep new sand. The AC locals can probably get you better information on the replenishment schedule.

After looking more closely at what came home, I have more silver and about 1/3rd of a wheat cent and some interesting pieces of brass.

The dime caught my eye in that I saw no copper lamination on the edge. A very little bit of electrolysis cleaned a little build up and looks like it moved a little silver too. I can make out that the head lines up with a Roosevelt pattern and with a magnifier I can make out 194?.

The penny is about the diameter of a dime and half as thick as a dime. On the obverse I can see a Lincoln head, on the reverse side my wife sees part of one wheat grain shaft, I don't see it, but will accept her view on this identification.

Pictures are (in order) obverse of the dime, obverse of the penny, reverse of the penny, edge of the penny, brass finds.
Cheers,
tvr

Hey it was nice meeting you too TVR....great job finding the silver and the gold....you dug some interesting old stuff too.....it's amazing what has been left behind by beachgoers since 1856 when the town was founded....shame that the beach is being replenished....luckily they aren't going all the way south.....some beaches will be spared this summer.....Good luck this season TVR !!

And a classic iron gunked silver coin. I like the relics too. Was down there last Saturday and went up towards the inlet to watch some of the replentishment action. Hopefully Mother Nature makes it all for naught this Fall and Winter.

Good hunting TVR...glad you had fun there.
