AT PRO's got to go back to Garrett:stretcher::cry:

Got out yesterday for about an hour in light drizzle before the AT PRO when hay wire. Same thing as my AT GOLD did a while back. numbers just started flashing all over and the depth reading read 10 inches. Totally went bizzerk!! Called Garrett today and will be sending it back tomorrow. I will be lost for 10+ days. It was a bad day all around. the rain, the detector dying, and my buddy comes down the hill and ask if his eye was bleeding. All I saw was blood running out of his eye and down his face!!! In the woods a branch got him right in the eye. I called him later that night and he said all was well with his eye, a cut just below the eye. WEAR safety glasses when in the woods. I know from last New Years day. I spent a few hours in the ER with a scratched cornea from a thron bush in the woods. Be safe everyone.

Bummer! Good time to do some research! My ProPointer is going kookoo - got to send it in for a checkup, but it gave me an excuse to buy a backup unit (w/ free Lesche), which I'd been meaning to do anyhow. Those woods can be treacherous - one day out in the Gila NF, a branch ripped my glasses off and I swear it took over an hour of crawling around on hands & knees to find 'em! (probably would have gone faster if I had my glasses )

My unit has done the exact same thing on a number of occasions. I turn it off and on a few times and it stops. I guess it's going back to Garrett as soon as the ground freezes.

Got mine back from Garrett yesterday. 2 weeks from ship to received back. My PP function just stopped. New coil and board. Works great and very happy with service I got.

Just make sure your not over underground power lines, mine started acting weird yesterday, looked around and noticed where I was standing,,,, I work for the utility so , backed off sensitivity in that area and adjusted my freq. and keep on hunting..... love this machine.....

I too work for our local Utility and know power lines near by. My friend was using his PRO and had no problems. I had this issue with my AT GOLD awhile back and had to send it in. I'm not worrying as Garrett will correct the problem and have it back to me in know time.
