After years of using BH LandRanger....AT Pro arrived today!....have already read manual and looking forward to digging in the dirt!....

What John said! After about 20 to 30 hours for me anyhow it just kinda clicked and I can pretty much guess what its gonna be 8/9 out of 10 times. A new place I usually dig all repeatable signals for a bit to see how things are at that spot and then I can ignore alot of trash confident I am not missing much thats good.

Happy hunting and you will be pulling out great stuff in no time at all.

Welcome and hope you really enjoy the AT!!

Well..the land ranger did a decent job of cleaning yard...but...did find 2 wheaties...2 new pennies....and a quarter!....looking forward to hitting the beach and local park next week...
Unless the stripers are showing up....will have to bring fishing gear just in case....

Learn those tones.....they make the machine so easy to predict what will probably be under that coil.

Good point. The tones are a primary reason why I bought an ATP. I used to love swinging in a field and judging initially by tone with my old ACE 250. Now I can do the same but with much more machine capability. Not to mention the water use bonus.

Sometimes I go out MD at night with no light at all. I got so good at the tones, when I run across a good target (there's no need to look at the VDI), I can tell what it is already...JOHN-EDMONTON HIT IT WHEN HE SAID LEARN THE TONE.

Welcome. However, the machine "clicks" with people at different times; sometimes 30 hours, but, more often than not, a lot more. Actually, this is true with all machines. Spend time with it...then spend some more. You will not be dissapointed. The AT series is, arguably, the best out there...I think so.
