I just got my Pro back from Garrett and I considered selling before trying it. Boy am I glad I didn't sell this detector. I took it to a spot where the ground is littered with rusty bottlecaps, but hold many good coins also. I quit hunting this spot because I tired of digging 6 to 7 inch deep rusty caps. The first five signals turned out to be three wheats, one buffalo, and a zinc. Wheats and buffalo were in the 8 inch deep range and all had trash beside or on top of them. The iron audio check is unbelievable. I dug many signals after finding the coins just to check the iron audio and I quit because it was always right. The proportional audio mode is the best I have ever used. It is so good that watching the meter is not neccessary. The meter vdi numbers were not very accurate on the coins 8 inches deep plus. The audio was awesome. I was not impressed with the headphone cord. It was way too short. I hope Garrett gets the extensions out in a hurry. The pro mode is hot and chirpy and the deep coins could have easily been mistaken as iron chirp. Learn this mode and check these quick blips to see if they repeat. This is the best single frequency detector I have ever used and it will hang with the big boys if you can run it wide open. R.L.
