AT/PRO - Whites M6

New member
Hi everyone I wanted to know which detector do you think is better....... Whites M6 or Garretts at/pro I have had 2 xlt's and 2 mxt's I am not into all the crap of fiddling around with different programs I like the basic programs

I live in North West NJ and I have alot of old farms to hunt along with ....schools...churches....parks....and old home sites and beaches mostly reservoirs some ocean....I narrowed my search to these 2 and was just looking for

some of your oppinions.....

Thanks, Bob

I've never owned an M6, but have an AT Pro and I use the same setting all the time, the onlt adjustment I do is trun on/off the iron audio. I also own a MXT and use the same set up for all my hunt too. Sold my XLT for the same reason you said( didn't feel like scrolling through a just to change one thing or anyother. MXT to me is pertty simple like the AT PRO. JMO

Never owned or run a M6 either, but I do have a White's V3i and that puppy is one complicated machine to learn. Like JOE, I always run my AT-PRO's the same way....PRO Mode, Zero Discrimination, Iron Audio "Off"...I never deviate and the AT-PRO's I own have produced very well, very, very well! The ATP is a relatively easy machine to learn and has the added benefit of being waterproof! Now you may or may not every water hunt...BUT, being able to hunt say that normally busy Park when it is raining and noone is around....Priceless!! I have owned 6 of the ATP's...I currently have 3. I simply can not pass a used one up when I see a great deal being offered. It is by far the machine I recommend to all my friends and fellow hobbyists, and 4 people I let give one of mine a spin have went out and purchased their own and are very happy.

The Atpro with the 5x8 coil is a beast in farms woods and sweet water.Im from jersey also and we have lots of old farms .

Bob,you asked this very same question on the 15th under the title detector help so why ask the same question again under a different title?Strange.

I you've had 2 MXT's you already know what the M6 is like. Same detector without the prospecting mode and no threshold.

The AT Pro is really not difficult. It too is a turn on and
go detector and the Tutorials are great. Check them
out for yourself on Garretts website. It is a much lighter
detector than the M6. And you get bang for your dollar.
The M6,...not so much buut it's loved by Whites owners.
