AT Pro vs Infinium

Using the Pro on most East Coast & Gulf Beaches have found very little interference, It's not uncommon for it to eek out a coin 12" and deeper. Maybe even 15" This in Zero Pro with 35-40 dis. I can get this without the nails bobbie pins ect. All this without having to take class' on how to run the thing. Pretty impressive to me.
Now I've never seen a Infinium. I would like to know, things being equal on the beaches. Is it possible to punch down past 16-17 inches? Say on clad. Giving that your hunting care full & slow. Now I know that you can take the Infinium diving down to 200' Maybe Edmonton John [ who owns both ] can give an opinion on this.

Honestly if you are hitting coins at 12" to 15" with an AT Pro then you have the hottest AT Pro made and you better stick with it. Normally I would count on an Infinium to get deeper than an AT but no way would I expect past 16-17 inches on coins with an Infinium. Then again my AT would never hit as deep as yours either.

Gulf Coast sugar white sands. Those depths are on quarters. The Pro will give off the barest of sig., bouncing around in the high eightys. These beaches are so hunted out some places theres not even trash. My deepest target was a coin spill of 5 coins, this had to be 15" min. Ran into a guy using a Garrett Sea hunter I believe. Told him to beware of faint sigs. Later on seen him hunting wet water that I'd been over. Told me I wasn't s---ing. said he never dug so deep. I might have just missed em but he had 6 coins I walked over. In the water no ones finding anything, my Pro runs quiet till the box gets wet, than it will start making some noise. So I don't know. One thing if things get real deeep it's a beer can.

The Infinium is a ground balancing PI which means in low mineral ground it gets less depth than a straight PI unit like the Sea Hunter. The ground balance circuit improves depth in high mineral ground but robs it in low mineral ground. This can be seen clearly in detectors like the Whites TDI that allow you to turn off the ground balance and run in full PI mode. Were I in your shoes I would be looking at the Garrett Sea Hunter with large coil, or alternatives like the DetectorPro Headhunter, Tesoro Sand Shark or White's Surf Dual.

In my black sand laden ground an Infinium will get a dime at about 10" and an AT the same dime at 6-7".

My Infinium in this hot hot Oregon volcanic dirt I can hit a nickle at 11" with my Infinium having the 8" mono coil on it. My AT won't do that...

I hit a quarter at 8 inches today in fresh water with my AT/Pro.

While beach hunting in Florida, I never saw such a clean beach.

I heard it turns out they use a drag sort of thing pulled behind a tractor that screens out all the trash, coils and rings.

Anyone else heard this?

Most of the well used beaches I've been on have some sort of device. They got to get the trash off the beaches ( beer cans, glass rags ect.) How deep they go and how small they pick up must vary. Seems they get everything but the pennies, pulltabs and bottle caps. So if their leaving bottle caps they can't be picking up many Q's. To our credit a lot of trash is dug or, picked by us guys and beachcomers. A good rule of thumb The hunters that you see dumping alot of trash are usually the most succesfull. The good stuff detects alot like the junk.
