AT Pro VS E-Trac results

Sounds like you put a lot of effort into this. I have never tried the AT Pro but I have heard many say that for the money it's definately one of the best.

Thanks for the time, effort and post you have made.

Great write up! I will get to try out an AT Pro this year since my friend just purchased one. I am looking forward to it

Thank you for the hard work on the comparison as it helps many of us newbies with our agonizing decision we made to switch to the Etrac, I for one swung an Mxt since 2002 and had great success with it but I eventually wondered about more depth and target ID at depth so finally after selling my beloved Mxt I took the plunge and got my Etrac Oct 17th 2012. It was a hard learning curve for me but I got things under control somewhat now. I am now wondering about expanding my hunting conditions to include wet environments so I am interested in the ATPro for that reason only. Your comparisons give me some idea of what to expect. Thanks

The test you did is a good one, I see a lot of people do tests, but they are more like how much they found in one month with one machine compared to a month with the other, and that is worthless. Thanks for taking the time to test them properly. Very interesting that the targets the AT missed were the deeper stuff. Usually the deeper stuff is going to be the older, better stuff......I think the etrac will win hands down everytime. Good post!

Great Post! A very well done comparison and really makes me want to get back to the places that I know of that are supposedly worked out. Thank you!

With the AT Pro I have found silver dimes around 7 inches, and quarters a 9 inches. Both are great machines. The AT Pro can cover more ground, the E-Trac gets depth.

I like the time you took to do your comparison. No doubt, this was a lot of hard work. I do have one question or comment. I believe you stated you marked the 11 and 12 Fe line with Co's from 38 up to 48. Not having run an AT Pro, I suppose this is comparable to the TID 70 and up ( covers wheats, zincolns, and silver).

I'd like to know, on the E-Trac if you had any 2-way hits with Fe's from 13 up to 27. Thos are definitely "markable" targets. At least for me, site dependent, I can have some good 2 and even 1 way hits with the FE up in the 20's and the Co's within your test range.

Just a thought to see what you found out.

Excellent write up, by the way. Really enjoyed reading it!

Thanks,

NebTrac

Now that I'm done playing around, I'll go back to the sites and start digging targets 1--40/41, 9--30 thru 46, 10--46, 11--11, 11--40 thru 47,12/13--4 thru 8, 12 thru 24 and 34 thru 46. I figured anything higher than 13 would be junk. Thanks for letting me know that 14 to 27 in FE and CO above 34 could be a good targets. I'll have to dig a few to see what happens. All one way hits have been nails so far. I've got permission for 6 houses, built around 1900 that may not wait, the're being fixed up for flips, so the parks will be put off for a while. Thanks again.

definately a lot of GOOD targets that come in higher than 13 FE and a lot of GOOD targets UNDER the 12 line are also good......

I have an e-trac and had an at pro. I personally found that in my area the atp didn't come close to performing as good as the e-trac. Sold the atp. Just my experience.

Had two hunts with my etrac and I can already tell its the best. Metal detecting for 13 years and this machine is by far top. Took me 1year to decide to get and glad I did! Hunted Parks and other sites are totally new now to me that ive detected for years. If your thinking of getting an etrac, don't, because I want those finds!!j/k good luck and HH!
