AT PRO VS CIBOLA

I CURRENTLY USE A CIBOLA AND DO WELL ON COINS.I WAS CONSIDERING A PRO, WOULD THIS BE A STEP UP.
I HUNT MAINLY FOR COINS IN PARKS ,SCHOOL YARDS TOT LOTS. YEARS AGO I HAD A GARRETT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS POOR
AND THE DEPTH I GOT OUT OF MY GRAND MASTER HUNTER WAS NOT VERY IMPRESSIVE.
THANKS

Garrett service is among the industry leaders along with Whites as far as getting your detector repaired once you have purchased it.

Keep in mind that depth may be just a matter of there being NO deep coins.

 A couple of weeks ago I was in OKC at my dealer's shop. He has stopped carrying Garretts altogether. He says that quality control is down and customers are complaining. Just saying. I used Garretts repair dept recently and had no problems.

I think it's kind of silly comparing a metered with tones detector to a Cibola . Maybe a Golden with it's tones would be a better choice but it's still lacking a meter . How about a comparison to a Cortes ? Know one should even attempt comparisons with a $360 machine to a $700 because those two are even close even if the Cibola hits targets as deep and I'm sure it will in the proper hands of a experienced user.
And there is no comparison to Tesoro lifetime warranty , period . Owners can discus there warranty's from any other manufacture but they are still limited from two to 5 years max . If they had pride in their workmanship and quality they'd do what Tesoro has done without question . But only offering two years for a expensive detector isn't even showing themselves respect and pride in what they produce and ever 5 is way better but still should have a limited transfer guarantee to anyone whom buys it within a curtain period from the original purchase date . And all of them should have enough technicians on hand to have a fast turn around in their repair department . This type of warranty and quick turn around would also boost sales for the sponsors .
So in my opinion if just one of the other brands would step up to the plate and offer a Lifetime warranty with a limited 5 year transferable option they'd move to the top of the best list to buy . Sometimes I wonder if any of these treads are read by the executives who run these top of the line company's . If they were it would happened by now. Happy Trails and HH , Woodstock

Yes you can't compare the two apple and oranges. But for your info I had the AT Pro for second try with two coils, and the Cibola with the two coils. If your use to the Tesoro beep and dig,and not the distraction of noise and screen then stick to Tesoro.I found screen readings to small on AT Pro, and chatter of its talk annoying. Me personally give the edge to Cibola

I fully agree with you Woodchuck cause I had a AT Pro and experienced the same problems you did. I love Tesoros for there simplicity and have owned three . The Tejon was a depth demon ! But when it comes to everything you said I have to agree with you giving an edge to the Cibola . HH , Woodstock

Does the Cebola have automatic ground balance?
Doe it have 15 kHz? Check out the Garrett tutorials
and see. The AT Pro as well as the Gold speaks out loud
for itself.

Good luck.

I'm glad to see you love your AT Pro and stand behind it . Your reply seems to say you have a Gold too ? Is that correct ? Because the frequency gap between the two is only 3kHz with the Pro at 15 kHz and the Gold at 18kHz and the Gold modes are more suited for finding yellow fever . But if you followed the thread you'd have noticed my post that there can't be a comparison between the two cause they are so much difference between them including the cost difference . Because of these differences and the fact that finding gold wasn't the question asked I still feel that in the right hands the Cibola will find coins as deep as the At Pro . And then actually the Cibola speaks out loud for itself as well and for about half the price . Thanks for the post and good luck yourself ! Happy Trails , Woodstock

As you can see, comparing detectors is just a list of opinions and most of the people have only used one of the two detectors in question as well, what are they comparing to? The only opinion that matters is YOURS.

My opinion is you are trying to compare apples to pineapples.

Larry I couldn't have said it better myself . I tried to but you do it better . I've had many detectors and I've been at this for over 30 years and found more and had more fun with the original Silver Saber. With it I've stood toe to toe with the best Whites at the time . It's knowing your machine and with the no meter or manual GB I could find coins on edge at 8" that many others with better or I should say more controlled machines . It's knowing what your machine and what it's telling you , your opinion and your choice is the only thing that matters . Happy Trails and Happy Hunting to All , Woodstock
