AT Pro vs AT Gold

CIRCLEHOOK

New member
I am thinking of buying an AT Pro or AT Gold for finding jewelry on dry beach sand.
They look very similar except the AT Gold has a Threshold Control.
Since the AT Gold is supposed to be for finding gold, I am thinking it might be better for finding jewelry in the dry sand.
Anyone have any ideas or experience with the AT Gold?
Thanks.

I have the AT Pro and it does well at the beach with the stock 8.5X11 coil. You have to lower your DC sens. some in the wet sand .But it goes deep. The AT Gold is NOT meant for a salt beach. as it has GB issues. HH.

Both the AT Pro/AT Gold will work great for coins and most relics, however, for hunting gold nuggests or tiny tiny objects, the AT Gold is the better choice because of it's true all metal mode + threshold adjustments. The at Pro might do a bit better for coins and relics because the pro can be adjusted by adding or removing notches without depth loss, whereas the AT Gold has pre-programed the unit for gold searching, relics/coins or just coins, without being able to remove any notched. The AT Pro will ground balance to salt water, the AT Gold cannot be ground balanced to salt. And of course both are water proof.

Hi John-Edmonton,
Have you performed any depth tests between the AT Pro and the AT Gold.
What is the max depth you can reliably find coins or rings with each of the machines?
Thanks.
