Has anyone actually had one submerged for several hours with no leaking problems? I am looking to snorkel in 4 to 5 ft of water. Will I have to fight to keep detector under water?

Thanks Jerry

I have....many times. Make sure you have some silicone lubricant on both the coil and headphone jacks, and that they are firm and tight so as to not leak. You should be fine! Go hunt and bring back some gold.

I have heard of some who hunt in the water and weigh it down a little.

many happy hours up to my neck in my local lakes looking for gold goodies and enjoying pretty ladies in the bikies lol not leak issues yet just lots of fun at the beach with my grand kids wife and at pro ive named my detector attie after a girl my 8 yr old grandson like,s in school he gets a kick out of that i also call my explorer se snoopy

Many, many hours fully submerge at a time with no problems. Just do the silicone grease on "O" rings as others stated. The coil has NO buoyancy, the electronic housing has some which is no problem when wading. I doubt it will be an issue snorkeling...if it is just attach alittle weight to it, should not take much.
