I'm using the stock at pro coil for about 2 years. Now today it started falsing. everything reads in the 90s most of the time??? Hunting the same place as last two weeks. Even if I take the coil off the shaft and tap it lightly with my finger it will sound off
Can't find out why HELP. FRESH WATER BEACH HUNT ONLY

If the control box got in the water, check the coil connector. Remove it and see if water got in. Re-apply some silicone grease to the o-ring prior to screwing the connector back on.

If the box did not get in the water, put the coil in a warm dry place and run a fan on it it case it did take on some water where the coil wire goes into the coil.

Try a different coil on the unit to see if it its the coil or the machine.

Contact Garrett if the problem lies with either the coil or machine. 1 800 527 4011

This is just my opinion, but a at pro that has seen a lot of use over a couple yrs, is a possible candidate for leak issues. I'm guessing any electronic item that is used as much as we use our machines, will eventually have a degradation point with seals that we cannot see with the naked eye. And all it takes is a dunk and then issues arise. Not to "bad mouth" garret at all, I'd just be careful with older at pros, just like any older machine. I will say that garrett is a great company for repairs and will make them under warranty, or give you a price that u cannot find anywhere on the web for repairs!
