i have it set on 'standard' and 'coin' still digging cans.... is that normal?

It's easy to tell aluminum cans. If you can't size the target raise the coil 12 inches off the ground. If you still get a good signal then it's a large target - most likely a can.

u will still dig the cans..........especially if they are deep.

like ken said............sizem

stick to small zone targets...............3 ro 4" range in dia.

Coin sized targets will fade out in distance from the coil well before a can will. You might want to test that theory....plant a coin on top of the ground and run the AT Pro coil over it, repeating scans and note at what height the audio fades. Now do the same using a can. The can will fade out at a much greater distance. Unfortunately, cans read as coins on metal detectors. Learn your machine well, and you can easily tell the difference. :)
