AT Pro sounds different today

Hey, for the folks out there who have sent their AT Pro out for the upgrade.... are the tones and responses different than before you sent the machine out for the upgrade? My machine is definitely different, it will take me a little getting used to since the upgrade. It works fine, but it does sound different. I had it out for a short hunt after work earlier in the week, we found some clad coins on the mountain road.

Soooooo, just wondering. Yes, I am still happy with the AT Pro. Garrett did a nice job with the upgrade.

Hi, could you please elaborate more on the upgrade....I hope it's not a delayed type of sound because I'm not into that kinda sound.....Thanks....JJ

Response time seems faster to me, also the VDI varies just a bit over the old one, just my observation owning 2 AT 's (one 1st generation and one new one)

Hi snide....Thanks for the response I like your answer I hope that's the case...I would not want it to have the slow wide sound like the Ace 250 .......JJ

Its too early for me to tell, but I too think that the VDI numbers are a little higher than before. The mid tones sound different, I need more time out with the detector to give more description.

My upgrade was the standard one that they offered late last year, the machine came back with the new and improved cam lock system, longer fore arm extension, plus what ever Garrett did with the machine. I really havent had the time to use it until this week.

It works great, Garrett also replaced the touch pad and screen, mine was scratched up a bit. I am looking forward to getting out with it soon.

Hi, did anyone do an air test before and after the upgrade? I have been hearing that they have less depth after the upgrade is this fact or fiction??? Thanks again....JJ

Ok, I have used the updated machine for an hour or two... so far, here is what I have learned... clad quarters are ringing out a bit higher, mostly in the 86-88 VDI range. Pennies are right where they were before the upgrade, around 80-82. Clad dimes are in the 85 range. I havent found any silver yet, nor have I found any nickels. The VDI for aluminum and trash is about the same. So far, it works great. I just need to use it more and get used to the different tones. I am very pleased at this point, Garrett did a nice job with my upgrade.

Clad Quarter SHOULD read 85-89, depending on depth and ground moisture....A Dime is usually 80-82...78-80 with a scratchy or warble sound is a screwcap...
