A friend of mine dropped his I-phone in a lake a couple of days ago. He had it in a water proof case and needed help to find it. He had tried to find it but the water was murky and he could not see it. He asked if I had a water proof detector and I said yes. We went out there to the lake today. I had tested my cell phone and it came in at 78. I notched out every thing but the 60 to 80 range and set discrimination at 40 and used standard settings. My hunting companion who is much younger then me took the detector in the john boat with the fellow who had lost his phone. They maneuvered around the area where he figured it might be. My hunting buddy located a good signal but then lost it. This happened two or three times. Part of the problem was they couldn't keep the boat steady. finally he found it again and was able to hold the phone down with the coil as they stuck a long 2 by 2 stick in the bottom next to the coil. They guy got in the water which was about 4 feet deep and reached down and retrieved the phone. The phone was dry but the battery pack was wet. We will know tomorrow if the phone works. The Garrett AT Pro was up to the task.

That had to be fun to watch those two in the boat hunt for that phone! That's a good find no matter how it was done!
