AT Pro Salt Water Coil Question

H E L P !!! I'll be detecting dry beaches, wet salt sand and shallow salt water next month. I plan on taking my 5" x 8" DD coil because of it's small size and light
weight. Should I also take my standard 8.5" x 11" DD or my 9" x 12" Concentric. I just won't have room for all three in my suit case. Any input will be appreciated.
ALSO: Is there any problems travelling by air with a metal detector ?

The large DD will be good covering more ground per sweep. Remember to get your ground balance down to where it runs fairly quiet and it should do well. Where you headed?

The 8.5 by 11 is best at beach. I live here on the coast and I'm on the beach all the time.I have no problems with the AT Pro here. The way I do it is to first ground balance, then adjust sens. til the machine is quite and smooth, then ground balance again. Sens will be lower in wet sand but you can raise it back up in dry sand. This oughta get you goin unless it's bad beach. Just one thing from experience, don't expect to find many goodies this time of year.

Take the "DD"s and leave the concentric coil at home. The DD coils will give you better performance in salt water.

Good luck!

My wife and I will be heading to Antigua around the middle of February. Any advice?

Be really polite to people, not your average rude tourist. People will treat you much better. Remember the Caribbean pace of life is much slower. Beware fruity rum drinks, liquid dynamite, they sneak up on you and WHAM! Make very sure you are not detecting on someone's property, you are the outsider there. The beaches by the resorts should be good. Take in at least one diving trip and go sailing.

There's my advice!

Good advice from the "Sailorman". I'll let you know how I make out when we get back home to Pennsylvania. We have been to Antigua a few times but never with a detector.
