Under most conditions, the Pro Mode gets the best depth. Below is a comparison between the Pro Mode vs.Standard Mode.
 
The only difference is between what your asking is your preferred settings. In custom mode you can save your settings that you like were as the other modes are Preset. I believe it has nothing to do with depth. If you asking what is deeper, you will always read deeper with no discrimination set at all. The higher the discrimination the less depth. This is to my understanding.
 
It is my understanding that discrimination has more effect on target masking than target depth. If a detector is swung correctly discrimination should have little effect on depth.
