is there any difference between Pro mode zero and Pro mode custom other than in custom your settings will be retained when unit is turned off???

I'm new to the AT Pro but on mine when I set iron rejection to eliminate nails in Pro custom nails will be silent, in zero mode u can hear nail grunt unless I'm doing something wrong. Got the 5x8" coil n love it, has very good depth.

This might be old hat but; in custom if you just disc out nails then turn on iron audio, you have set the tone break at the edge of the nail/iron signal. Great for unmasking. Just learned that today after half a year, I really need to read the manual!

The custom mode is just that.....a mode you can set the reject/accept notches to your own preference.. I have mine set from numbers 75 to 85 only, allowing me to quickly pick out silver or copper rings/coins. I seldom use this mode though.

Pro zero really is the only useful setting once you learn the machine. Loys of variables on this mode such as mineralization, targets and iron. Good luck on the hunts!

There are many different answers but I think I will stick with pro zero, I will be hunting freshwater lakes with very low mineralization mainly for gold jewelry so I think this will be the best choice, thanks for all the replies. John
