AT-PRO QUESTION

Been running this AT-PRO i got on a trade for the last month and I'm just currious. I have tried all modes both standard and pro. custom settings. iron at 38. notched out tabs and pennies. sensitivity all the way but 1 bar. ran both 8.5 x11 and the small 6x9'' coils.

Is it normal to get constant Loud pinpoint pings on about every other coil sweep.? PING, PING, PING, then an occasional screen freez. I have reset the unit to it's original settings then back to hunting. . I have heard a ton of people say they love the fast recovery time with the AT.????

Yes I've tried new batteries also. connections all tight. Just seems kinda odd. ? maybe this is normal?

Try turning your sensitivity down a few bars, and use only

the Pro Mode, that bell tone in Std Mode drives me CRAZY.

Hope this helps.

How old is the AT Pro do you know? I have a newer one and heard the original ones came out had a problem with sounding off at the end of each sweep or when changing directions. If you don't know how old it is you can take pictures of the cam locks that hold the shafts and we can tell you if it is one of the older ones that had problems or one of the new ones.

Unless you have sensitivity to high you might need to call Garrett. Sounds like something loose. Is coil wrapped to tight around shaft or to loose?

Thank you Bart.I was costantly getting signals at the ends of my sweeps.I normaly use velcro straps to secure my coil cables on my other Detectors, but had not put any on my AT pro yet.Guess what I found when I went to install the straps?....... The crome nut wich holds the coil cable securely to the control housing had completely unscrewed itself. Total shock! ....(Trey Bizarre)

Hi !
If you getting the signals in the and of yours end of sweep it means that the GB is wrong set up but is only my opinion.
Mario.

:thumbup:sonds like you have one of the first ones out, they all had that poblem,it turned out to be the coil , call garrett they will make it up to you, then you will have a very fine detector.
