What Size Coil and would it be a Double D or Concentric when hunting in Fresh and Salt water? I would really appreciate your suggestions. Dave.

Double D to work better with the mineralization in salt water and the stock 8.5 x 11 has worked fine for me.

Freshwater the factory 8.5x11 coil will do fine. Saltwater now that's another story maybe the smaller 5x8 coil would do better???

I use the stock coil and in salt water. I have to turn down the sens. but it will het the very small thin chains!!

The DD would probably work better in salt water. if I was water hunting, and the trash wasn't too bad, i would get the largest coil for water hunting. Large coil = greater coverage + greater depth. The large 9" x 12" concentric coil is my favorite coil for fresh water detecting. I use the ACE with the sniper coil at the cut in the shallow water, where the targets are plenty. One coil is not a do it all. different sized coils work best under different conditions. Hope this helps.

I totally agree that different search coils are good for different areas. However, the stock search coil on the AT Pro should suit your needs quite well for any fresh water or salt water hunting that you may want to do.:garrett::detecting:Best of luck to you.:biggrin:Happy Hunting!:)
