AT-Pro question: sizing target...

Steve(MS)

New member
Hey I know the AT-Pro is new and most who have it just got it
but I have a general question.
Has anyone experimented to see what method(s) work best
to size up a target--like does the pinpoint mode work well for
telling the size of something---coin size vs coke can size, etc.
...Or using other modes/methods how does it do?
Thanks.

Steve, I know the GTI-2500 has the sizing (imaging) feature but the AT PRO does not.
However, a ring or coin does give a very sharp and fast report.
Larger targets are more drawn out.
So I guess you could ... like with any other detector ... get some idea of the target size from the audio and your sweep speed.
Your brain is the best processor a metal detector can have.

Too bad Garrett did not stuff all their features into this new detector ... but then who would buy the 2500 and 1500.
Already this new AT PRO is stealing the show from the ACE 350.
I look for Garrett to update and possibly redesign the GTI-2500 soon.
Now that should be something to think about ... a GTI-2500 with a full color LCD screen, improved depth, and new display graphs.
Oh Yeah ... and ... totally waterproof to 100 feet ... ...

Yeah their flagship detector needs some serious revamping and more up to date technilogical features such as multiple adjustable frequencies.
