AT Pro question----Help me understand this.

D&P-OR

Well-known member
I don't mean this post to sound critical--it's just a question I have.---Am I correct on the following (or not). :)-----The AT Pro comes with the Garrett standard (land) headphones (with the "screw on" waterproof connector).--These h.p.'s themselves are NOT waterproof but the connector on them IS.----Garrett is (later on) going to turn out a screw on female type adapter for a 1/4" h.p. jack so you can use your other (favorite) h.p.'s if you wish to.----So now this h.p. connection (to the detector) is no longer water proof (because of this adapter/jack connection).------Question---Is there going to be a way (connection) that you can put on (install) on your favorite h.p.'s cord to make it still waterproof at the detector entrance? (h.p. cord to detector)-----I realize other h.p.'s are not waterproof--not concerned about that.---I Am concerned about a waterproof connection.---I also realize that this would limit your h.p.'s to use only with the AT Pro--probably not a problem with some (me included).-----Or are we limited to the Garrett land OR waterproof h.p.'s (in order to have this waterproof connector)?------All this is a "mouth full"--I hope I made myself halfway understandable on it.--Just trying to "sort it out". ;) ---------Thanks, Del

Yes the connector for the satndard headset is waterproof and comes with the detector. As far as the other situations...I don't know. As far as I know, you can buy an adapter for the AT Pro to use the standard 1/4 male jack on a headset.

the reason they have special connectors is because AT PRO is land and water machine, so yes they would use special headphones or should i say connectors that are water proof. any under water detector has a special water proof connector on them, someone mentioned they are going to have a 1/4 jack adapter you can install but then its no longer water proof
