Hey everyone, been a long long time since I've posted anything worthy. Been having a big slump lately. With the summer heat, dry ground, haven't made it out detecting in quite a while. The last time I hunted was on 7/2. I found myself back at the same ballfield down the road from my house. This field is starting to get picked clean of coins. I decided to just dig anything above iron, regardless if it was a consistent signal or not. I was getting pretty discouraged as I hunted for over an hour and I didn't have a single keeper in my pouch, just a bunch of trash. This little Mexican girl saw me hunting and was asking me a few questions. One of her questions was if I ever found a ring and I said that I found many rings in this ballfield over the years. I also said that I hunt here very often and sometimes I pull a ring that I missed amongst the trash. Well she ended up getting bored watching me dig trash so she went on her merry way with her parents. At this point, it was starting to get pretty dark, the mosquitos had it in for me and I was about to call it quits. I decided to try my luck over by this big oak tree that has yielded many oldies and rings in the past. Came across a nickel signal, bouncing around from the upper 40's to lower 50's. Dug a nice deep plug, stuck the propointer in the hole and the signal was in the side of the hole. I started scraping away the dirt and came across what I thought was the edge of a pulltab. Which was what I was expecting anyways because of the numbers coming up on the display. I tried pulling it out, but noticed the edge of the tab seemed pretty thick. I got my fingernails underneath the tab and started pulling and immediately said "thats not a pulltab!" Pulled up this sweet 10K white gold class ring from 1988. I've never seen a class ring with the stone offset like this one. The stone is absolutely beautiful. Best looking ring I've ever dug outta the ground period!
