AT PRO Problem

ok So I got my new AT Pro.....and ......problems.....I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or it's the problem.
My AT Pro will not PinPoint !!! I do everything just like they say to and I even watched the videos. But when I try to PP it just shows 1 bar and humms.
the bar and sound never move.

any Ides ?????

Not sure if the detector has a problem or not.
Once you find the target do you move away from it
and start the pin point mode towards it?
If its working right it should increase in signal and sound.
Some times I depress the pin point button a few times on the target to get
a more concentrated ID of the target.
I've had that problem a few times and I think its the nature of the target.
Hope this helps otherwise it may need a visit to the Garret's hospital .

It could be you just not figured out the technique yet. Like Joel said you have to move well to the side and then press the pinpoint button. If you have not used a DD coil before, pinpointing is different. Try throwing some coins down and pinpointing on them.

Also listen to what the detector is telling you as you move the coil to an area clear of targets. If it keeps beeping on something, even low tones in the iron range, find a quiet area because these targets will also detune the At Pro. This is by design, not a problem. Just the way it works.

Another thing you could try is not using the pinpoint function at all and just wiggle the coil back and for over the target and move it back so the beeping area moves right up the middle of the coil. As soon as it stops, the coil has just moved off of the target and should be right there in the middle of the nose at the top. This is a very handy feature of all DD coils.

Yes I did try all of those things.....and the bar and sound never changed. I called Garrett this AM and told them the problem I was having.........Brad said even if I was really bad at it the sound and bar would have moved some. So they said send it back to them and they would fix her up for me.....and for the problems I've had they are going to upgrade her for free....

Mine developed the problem you describe after a few weeks of use. I plan to send it in to get fixed but don't like the Idea of going back to the coinmaster. Other than the pinpoint it works great.

ya ...I hate to send it back too....but thos things happen....Brad the guy I talked to was very nice, and it will all work out. I'm going to Va in a few days, and was hoping to run the AT Pro....but it was not to be...I hope I will get a hit on my Bounty Hunter IV.

Yep, mine had a pinpoint problem too. I could mash it real hard and get it to kick in sometimes, but not the best solution so back to Garret it went. Had it back in a week!!

I had the same PP problem. I talked to Brad at Garrett and he asked that I remove the two screws that hold the control box to the shaft and send just that part in. Mine has been gone a little over a week now, hope it shows up soon. The Ace 350 has been doing a good job of getting me by.

Update..........got my At Pro back today...and all is fixed. They gave me the upgrade on the arm and even through in a digging tool...nice...

Mine come back from repair also with a digging tool. I have plenty of digging tools I would rather of got one of those cool AT Pro hats. I'd wear it proud and give Garrett some free advertising.

ooohhhhhh......I didn't know they had AT PRO hats........that does sound cool.....I didn't have a digger so it worked for me....
