I went for a water hunt today. I used the AT Pro for the first two hours, and only found a dime and 2 bottle caps. It's awfully lonely out in the water when your detector doesn't talk to you very often So, as I have done many times in the past, I went back to my car and traded the AT Pro for the Garrett Infinium. And, as many times in the past, there were again many more signals, and my coin count went up quickly and I even found a ring. The Infinium was picking up targets at an easy 15" with the large 10" x 14" mono coil. That kind of depth is out of range for coin sized objects using a VLF detector.
I also dug up a deep coin covered with a thick black slag. I figured that it had to be old, however, that was not the case.
See below for the good finds from today's hunt.
