AT Pro or Gold?? Suggestions??

Been metal detecting with my father for about 6 months now (he's been an avid hunter since the mid 70's). I have been using his backup, a minelab Quattro, but would like to own my own. I was going between the AT Pro or Gold thinking they would be comparable to what I'm using now. Any pros/cons of either or feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

Mostly relic hunting coins, buttons, lead, iron, etc... old encampments and Oregon Trail. There is a stream that runs through the property which makes me like the water proof features on both.

Either machine will serve you well. Both are very capable & versatile. AT Gold has advantage of All Metal mode (besides Disc mode), which makes it the weapon of choice for prospecting gold, meteorites, & other low-conductive targets, including lead. If you are near gold country, that would be a consideration. Go on the Garrett site & view videos on both models. Good Luck on your choice, & be safe out there. :)

Like said, either would likely serve you well. I have a AT Gold, it's an excellent machine, the AM mode is great and would probably help find some extra items you are looking for. It does great in the water also!

I didn't see it said so I will say it, check out you tube for the AT Pro and The AT Gold. Lot of good info
