AT Pro on wet sand

Well, I finally got my ATPro to the beach (Ocean City Maryland) for about two hours. On dry sand it worked ok, as I pulled up probably 50 cents in dimes, pennies, nickels, etc. and bottle caps and tinfoil at times.

On wet sand I got some chatter and reduced sensitivity accordingly. One thing I noticed a lot of false high pitch hits (around 92) on the wet sand. I'd swing it around again and sometimes it would hit around that same spot, yet a third time not hit at all. My sons and I dug a few and got nothing. I realize I still need to practice when I am able to go again, but any tips on the settings/mode, etc. on wet ocean sand with the ATPro would be appreciated. If the water is calm, I'd like to go in shallow water with it, but for now I'd be happy to have confidence on wet sand near, but not in the water without those false positives.

Thanks!

Same problem, except mine spiked at 99. I found it was picking up specks of metal. Flakes scraped off of a ship I think. So small the pro pointer couldn't find them. BUT, I didn't get a clear audio response either, so after a little time I was able to pass them over. There were flakes of all sizes, but the small ones were the problem. I also hit pockets of concentrated Black Sand. Black Sand is heavy with iron, so, it give an iron signature and I was able to adjust for it. I setup my ATP in Custom mode for the beach.

As the manual states, you should GB on the wet sand and may want to manually GB somewhere around 11 I'm thinking depending on the individual beach of course.

Mine GBs at 10 or so depending on the beach and I can run near full sensitivity. You gotta slow your sweeps on wet salt sand, cant swing as fast as in the dry stuff.
I like disc about 25 in pro mode, just knocks out the smaller iron flakes.

i go to Bradenton beach area alot .on that beach their is alot of metal flakes to half dollar size metal peices on the beach ,they are black in color if you do see them. but they give me alot of false signals anywhere on the scale 0-99 , but in the water i dont have those metal pieces and it gb fine , occassional high signal sound then . if i go to other beaches i dont have the problem
