AT Pro Nel Coil or CTX 3030 ?

CIRCLEHOOK

I want to upgrade my wet salt sand detecting. I have a Garrett AT Pro which doesn't go very deep on wetsalt sand with either stock coil.
I was thinking of getting the NEL Attack coil for it or just buying a Minelab CTX 3030.
How would they compare on wet salt sand? Obviously there is a big cost difference.

If you don't want to spend the money on a 3030 at this time the next best would be. Find a Sov GT. I have both the 3030 and the GT. I have always owned a GT. Great machine for wet salt sand. But if you have the money the 3030 is also a great machine. I used the 17 inch coil most of the time on the beach or with theGT the 15 inch WOT coil. Hope this helps. HH

IF its just for better depth in the wet salt water sand ...... get a used GT. Multi freq is going to serve you better there than the AT. The GT however is a slow recovery machine so id stick to using the AT off the beach just because of the TID screen and its ability to pick up smaller targets. BIG money for a 3030..... but its a good all around machine. It would give you the ability to get it wet and not have to worry about the ocean mist or rain. Id still be cautious about dunking even the 3030. Used ones can be found at a reasonable price with some warranty still on them. Im a beach hunter so ive got both a GT and Xcals..... i like to keep it simple there and a TID on the beach just gives you reason NOT to dig targets. Trust me you dont want to hunt a beach the same way you hunt a park.

Circlehook, If YOU want a Bigger Coil for Depth on YOUR AT-Pro, I would GET the NEL Tornado, and Nothing BIGGER, because of the WEIGHT!! If YOU do some research on the
NEL Forum Page,YOU should CONFIRM what I'm saying about the TORNADO!! As far as the CTX, find someone YOU know, who has one, and SEE if they'll take YOU
OUT with them!! That way, YOU see 1st Hand, how it works, before YOU LAY any Money down!! Personally, I would N-O-T have one, because TOO MANY Headaches,
and WAY TOO E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E for parts, once the Warranty RUNS OUT!! I would get an EXCAL or CZ if YOU want WATERPROOF, and either a SOV-GT or an
E-TRAC if NON-Waterproof!! All of them have a FAR BETTER Track Record!! JMHO!! Les Robinson.
