At pro my thoughts

Well I got my AT when they first came out as a summer time fresh water detector. But having a new detector I had to get out and give it a try. Well it has become my go to detector and has replaced all my top of the line detectors as the one I grab when I go hunting. After I got it I sold my whites V3, Fisher F75 LTD, and my Minelab Excal have not missed any of them yet. I still have a list of other detectors but the AT goes with me on almost every hunt, Only place it is not my go to is at the salt water beach and have only tried it there once it did good just not got the depth of my Aquasound nothing I have tried does. Well won't be long until I get to try it out for what I actually got it for as the lakes and streams warm up here. Can't wait think it will be great.

Thanks Jason.....Been thinking of buying one! I have sell a Vaquero and a golden first, but you helped me make up my mind! :)

Havent seen you post for a while jason. You gotta feel good about being around water and dropping the ATPro in the drink and not worrying about damage. That is a strong statement from you about not missing your other machines and having your go to machine on the ready. I have only been detecting for about 8 months and these typeof reviews (or hype as others would call it ) are insperation to others . I guess youre not going to use the ATPro for fresh drops:rofl: Good luck in the water..........

Has been a while since I made a post been working a bit here the last month or longer. Was doing quite a bit of relic hunting. Every thing has grown up a good bit and it is getting to warm to do any serious relic hunting. I relic hunt civil war stuff mostly in the winter. Then hunt jewelry in the summer in and around the water. Not a huge amount of coin and park hunting for me. The AT PRO gets as good or better depth relic hunting than most. The thing I like most about the AT is the audio. It really let's you identify iron and good targets around iron with out having to spend time looking at the ID. I can't wait to get it wet and find some gold and silver jewelry in this area should only be a couple more weeks. Will try to take you along on a couple hunts with some you tube videos. Have some relic videos up already.

it will work up here

black sand is really bad................hell..u kow that.

Max have not tried the Aqua sound at VA beach have heard from some one else who has one that it is not good there. Was hunting with Jim last year and he had Soverign. Got a weak signal he checked and said nothing at all no target indication. I dug a dime at about 16 Inches he shook his head and said if I had not saw it I would not believe it.

I believe the audio tones make hunting so much more exciting. The old tecnetics 8000 had the tones. It was my favorite of all my old detectors. I've had all of them. Minelabs to radioshack, learned the hard way...hehehe. Can not wait to get me an AT Pro. The entire Garrett line has been good to me over the years.....The awesome power and versatility of the at pro is going to make it fun again. Can't wait to learn the new language!

Can the At Pro be used with the factory shipped headphones in the water ?? I see their not waterproofed. ??? I was a little surprised at that when I opened my Box today.

You can USE the stock headphones while the control box is in the water, since the headphone jack itself is waterproof.... but I'm pretty sure you cannot submerse the stock headphones in water. I've used mine in a steady rain with no problems, though.

NO the stock headphones have a water proof adaptor, but the headphones themselves are not. You can hunt water with them just don't go to deep and submerge them.

I was a little surprised that garrett didn't include waterproof headphones in a advertized Water hunter.. to 10'

The waterproof headphones probably cost more to make which would have driven the price up. Since not everyone wants the waterproof headphones Garrett probably thought let the people who want waterproof headphones buy them extra.

What Garrett should have done is offer the AT-Pro in two packages. One with the standard headphones and one with waterproof headphones, much like what Whites did with the V3i and their wireless headphones. This way people only buy what they want.

That would have been a great idea. I wouldn't have minded spending $50 or $60 more for a package with the waterproof headphones. The stock ones work OK, but I'd rather have the waterproof ones for when I think I need 'em... and then be able to use some really good land headphones (or wireless ones) via an adapter, when working dry.

Correct the headphone plug is waterproof the head phones are not. I have a felling you are going to want some different phones once you try them out.

That's a really impressive line of detectors you just sold.

Glad you are enjoying the AT Pro.
