AT Pro Metal or Coins Mode?

Lenmcgold

New member
Using my AT Pro - in Pro Mode, I see very little difference if I use Coins mode with disc @ 35, or if I use Metal mode with disc @ 35. Not speaking of looking for gold, since that would be with disc @0. Am I missing something here?
Thanks, Len

In Pro mode you get the proportional audio which will help you pre-determine the signal strength of the target. Softer it is more likely the deeper it is. I also find that I get a little more depth (about an inch) in pro mode. I tend to run my machine at zero disc. I want to hear if there is a good signal next to the iron. Hope this helps.

I avoid Coin mode. I've been to several places where some coins don't register in Coin mode. This could have been due to soil conditions, depth, nearby junk, etc. These conditions influenced the VDI readings. Can't go wrong with no disc.

I only use coin mode in trashy areas. Custom to weed out a specific item I am running into a lot.
