After some wheeling and dealing, my new AT Pro is being shipped today! It will be my first new and current detector since 1985. All the ones since then have been 5-10 year old used boxes. All the ones before then were new, paid for with the previous detector's finds. (There was a lot more silver back then.)
I went back and forth about the AT Pro, trying to take everyone's experiences and concerns in context. I figured, worst that could happen is get eaten by a shark or stung to death by swarms of jellyfish. Then a leak issue wouldn't really matter much. Although if it's the shark option, I plan on going down like Captain Quint with my medieval looking Lesche tool in hand yelling "Yarrrrrrgh!!"
I started reading the AT Pro manual online. I can see it's going to take a while to figure out what the heck I'm doing. (I miss your simplicity and your curves, ADS Groundhog...wherever you are... *sniffle*.)
So... three days in transit, and with any luck, I'll be digging up pull tabs and can slaw by Sunday!
