AT Pro-Iron Audio

RLOH

Well-known member
I am taking the time to tell you how good, no I mean GREAT the AT Pro is in rusty iron. If you are hunting sites without iron, this detector is just plain deep, but if you take it to your worst iron spots, it will amaze you if you take the time to learn it. Today was probably the day that proves the AT is a beast in iron. I only have a couple of spots where the rusty iron is thick and I took the AT to one of those spots today. I hunt in Pro mode, zero disc, 30 iron disc, one bar from max sens, ground balance at 88. I do not hunt with the iron audio active, but check signals with good, repeatable tones and numbers with the iron audio on. First signal a low 70's with an iron grunt in pro mode. I checked in iron audio and it grunted and gave a high tone from two angles. I DO NOT dimiss an iron grunt and good tone mixed in. I have found that over 50% of the time, it is a good target with rusty iron real close. 1902 Indian with a large rusty bolt within an inch. I found two more Indians and one old wheat with a grunt and high tone when checking with iron audio. If you hear a "grunt " in iron audio along with a sweet tone, do yourself a favor and dig it. For the record, where I hunted today I have pounded with some of the best detectors on the market. I knew that there was a ton of rusty iron and I am gridding it again with the AT Pro. What I am finding is beyond amazing. Today I only hunted for barely over an hour and every older coin was 7 to 9 inches deep. There are many detectors that will find a coin at these depths, but the AT will not only find them this deep, but unmask them as well. To say I am impressed is an understatement! R.L.

Thank you for that report. That really makes me want to get out and try mine. It has been a long winter waiting. I may even drive south if the snow lingers too long.

Good report RLOH. Its up to the user to to make it happen on those signals.U just never know with the ATPro

Luke, I like your stand. Could you tell me what it is and how you made it? I have a Garrett Gizmo on my AT and the detector stand is not high enough. Your contraption looks like a simple solution. Thanks R.L.

Its called my "Macho Stand." I got it off of an office chair :rofl:Its a protective cover for the metal on office chairs. Its very simple , U can C this type of cover on a lot of desk chairs.just cut it down to fit and your in there.May not last long depending on the type of hunting U do , but Its fun to make lemonade out of lemons.....................................
